James Infantino, 93 of Wheatfield, NY, formerly Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 in Northgate Healthcare Facility surrounded by his loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Michael and Antonia (Lamendola) Infantino.
James lived most of his life in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. He married his wife of 57 years Anne M. (Laurendi) Infantino on February 25, 1941 in St. Joseph Church, Niagara Falls, NY. She predeceased him February 5, 1998. Mr. Infantino worked as a salesman and truck driver for Walker's Laundry in Niagara Falls for forty years retiring in 1981. Following his retirement, he volunteered his time at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and American Red Cross escort services. James enjoyed watching football and centered his life around his family, especially his grandchildren.
James is survived by his two children, Linda (Louis) Muzzillo of Niagara Falls, NY and Antonia "Toni" (James) Smith of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, two grandchildren; Claudia (James) Ciao and Susan (Edward) Ceccato, two great- grandchildren; Julia Lynn and Matthew Edward Ceccato and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Infantino was also predeceased by his siblings, Charles (late Antoinette) Infantino, Nellie (late Joseph) Barresi, Ida (late Joseph) Bruccoleri, Thomas (late Carmella) Infantino, Joseph (late Antoinette) Infantino and Samuel (late Isoline) (late Vita) Infantino.
James was the son-in-law of the late, Carmen and Vienna (Granto) Laurendi; and brother- in- law to the late, Vincent (Joan of Lewiston, NY) Laurendi, John (Armenia of Niagara Falls, NY) Laurendi, Peter Laurendi, Frank (late Josephine) Laurendi and Mary (late Anthony) Princevalle.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday June 13th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 27th Street and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers as well as memorial offerings to Northgate Health Care Facility 7264 Nash Road North Tonawanda, NY 14120, would graciously be accepted.
