James S. “Jim” Testa, Sr., 76, of Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Tullio and Mary (Lipiano) Testa.

Jim was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Niagara University before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Enlisting in 1972, he served in the Finance Corps until receiving his honorable discharge in 1975. On September 4, 1978, he married the love of his life, Denise (Giangreco) Testa at St. Leo’s Church in Buffalo.

Jim dedicated much of his professional life to serving both his community and those around him. He began his career as an accountant, working for several local hospitals including Mt. St. Mary's Hospital and DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Later, he joined the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Buffalo, where he spent many years delivering mail and building lasting friendships with the customers on his route. Jim genuinely looked forward to seeing the people he served each day and took great pride in the relationships he developed throughout his career.

A true car enthusiast, Jim enjoyed collecting classic car models and was especially proud of the classic automobiles he owned over the years. His "gift of gab" made him a familiar face especially in his hometown of Niagara Falls, where he seemed to know everyone and never met a stranger. He also had an unforgettable sense of humor.

Above all, Jim was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Denise of 48 years, Jim is survived by his four children, Jim (Maria) Testa Jr., Ashley (Derek) Tesch, Andrea (Andy) Pfohman and Jonathan Testa; eleven grandchildren, Nicoletta, Jimmy III, Vinny, Bradley, Mallory, Noah, Mason, Zachary, Charlie, Eli and Ella; his siblings, Anthony (Bonny) (late Anita) Testa and Loretta (Glenn) Gravestock, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 7 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM. Interment at the WNY National Cemetery in Pembroke, NY, will be held privately. Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Hospice Buffalo or the Alzheimer's Association (WNY Chapter).
