James R. 'Ricky' Colquitt, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 16, 2025 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late James R. Colquitt, Sr. and Pearlie C. (Feagins) (late Reginald) Green.

Ricky attended Trott Vocational, where he played Basketball and Football, and later graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1975.  He was employed for over 40 years with the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a Physical Education Associate and in Maintenance until his retirement in 2023.  Ricky also coached basketball at Harry F. Abate School.

A phenomenally skilled musician, Ricky played Bass in bands for over 50 years and was currently playing with the Boogie Monsters.  He played original music with Salt Peter and in Canada with Triax, he also played in Bad Animals, Passion Works, Envy and Valhalla.  Ricky also enjoyed landscaping and cutting lawns, and snow removal in the winter and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He also was a barbeque master, loved cooking, and was known for his fried chicken.

James is survived by his loving wife with whom he shared 40 years, Catherine A. (Ferrari) Colquitt; his children, James R. (Kimberly) Colquitt, III, Michael R. Lauzau, Jr. and Tanya Crumm; his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Pastor Kathy Feagins, Omega Feagins, Willie F. (Mary K.) Brown, Jr., and Robert G. Cox, Sr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of close friends and acquaintances.   He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly (Feagins) Hill.  He was also survived by a close friend and neighbor of 25 years, Mama Kris Korshalla.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25 from 11 AM to 1:30 PM at M.J.
