James S. "Jimmy" Malinowski, age 75, of Youngstown, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 8, 1944 he was the son of the late Stephen and Adele (Golda) Malinowski. James was also predeceased by a step father John Patricko.
James attended the former Trott vocational school and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He served for the United States Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on February 1, 1963. James married his wife of 55 years, the former Linda Shira on December 18, 1964 in Mt. Carmel Church, Niagara Falls and before settling in Youngstown, together raised 4 children in their first home in LaSalle. Jimmy as he was known by his family and friends worked at Kimberly Clark and retired in 2009 from Olin Chemical, Niagara Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, especially the many days they spent on the river in Youngstown, NY. Following his retirement, James enjoyed traveling with his wife and recently had taken a cruise to the Bahamas in November with dear friends. Jimmy also served as a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a very caring, loving gentleman who would help anybody in need. Above all, James enjoyed spending the holidays surrounded by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, James S. (Chris) Malinowski, Jr; Charles J. Malinowski, Kathleen Malinowski and Nicole Malinowski; 3 grandchildren that he loved spending time with and seeing the great people they have become, Chaz, Jordynn and Autumn; 1 great-grandson, Tyler; brother, Jonas Patricko; brother-in-law, Dennis (Mary) Shira and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close and distant friends and family. James was predeceased by a brother, Jerome Patricko.
Visitation will begin on Friday, December 20 th from 3 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where James funeral services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church 218 Hinman St. Youngstown, NY Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Youngstown Fire Company or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
