James Campbell Sheer, 80, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2026. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond and Melvina (Campbell) Sheer.

James was a proud veteran of both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force, serving honorably from 1964 to 1968. He later dedicated 32 years of service to the Buffalo V.A. Medical Center, working in laundry services and videography.

A devoted father and grandfather, James treasured time spent with his family and friends. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, enjoyed trips to the casino, and found his greatest joy in fishing and sharing moments with those he loved.

James is survived by his daughters, Krista (Patrick) Scheifla and Kelly Sheer; his siblings, Janice Sheer‑Dainotto and Richard (late Karen) Sheer; grandchildren Jackson, Mikayla, and Aria; and his former wife, Colleen (Murphy) Sheer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his siblings John (late Stephanie) Sheer, Paulette (late Paul) Samples, and Lynn Sheer.
