James H. Smyth, 63, of Lake Worth, FL, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Friday January 9, 2009 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Loran Douglas and Joyce Beatrice (St. John) Smyth.
Jim attended local schools. On November 19, 1965 he married Charlotte A. (Zimmerman) Smyth at Niagara Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls. He was formerly employed as the plant manager and vice-president of operations at Pyron Industries and plant manager at Millard Alloys. The Smyth's moved to Florida about 16 years ago, and Jim worked as plant manager for Hernon, an adhesive manufacturer, in Sanford, FL. Jim also enjoyed golfing and was a dedicated Buffalo Bills fan.
In addition to his wife of forty three years, Mr. Smyth is survived by two daughters JoAnne (Raymond) Page of Youngstown, NY and Jennifer Smyth of Amherst, NY; two grandchildren Nicholas Page and Matthew Page, two sisters Frances (late Roland) Gilbo of Potsdam, NY; Elizabeth Smyth of Niagara Falls, NY; two brothers John (Carla) Smyth of Pendleton, NY, Loran Smyth of Niagara Falls, NY and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday 4 -8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Thursday January 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m with the Rev. Patrick Fleming, officiating. Interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion NY.
