Jane E. Pullano, 94, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late James V. and Josephine M. (Zamello) Granto.
Jane moved with her family to Yonkers, NY, where she graduated from Charles E. Gordon High School, before returning to Niagara Falls in 1949. On September 19, 1950, she married the love of her life, Nicholas L. Pullano, at St. Joseph Church. Mr. Pullano predeceased her on April 12, 2018, after 67 years of marriage.
Jane was employed at the Treadway Inn and later worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Howard Posener for ten years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends and family, and cherished the annual family vacations to Florida with her husband and grandchildren. She loved spending time on the beach and was known for her impeccable style—her hair, nails, shoes, and clothing always sparkled. Jane maintained her independence throughout her life, proudly driving up until recently. Above all, she treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Donna Fontanarosa; her daughter‑in‑law, Lorraine (late Nicholas “Nicky” Jr.) Pullano; and her son‑in‑law, Peter Fontanarosa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Miquel Pullano (Ryan Freeman), Vincent (Chelsea) Pullano, David (Erika) Fontanarosa, and Peter (Emily) Fontanarosa; her great‑grandchildren, Ariona and Natalia Tomkiel, Enzo Pullano, Ava, Louis, Juliet, Alice, Lucile, Millie, and Olivia Fontanarosa; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and her son, she was predeceased by her brother, Larry (Andrea) Granto.
Jane’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Niagara Hospice, as well as her home health care nurses and aides, for their compassionate and dedicated care.
Jane’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice (www.niagarahospice.org). Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
