Jane J. Congi, 87, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family on August 31, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the first-born daughter of Frank and Brandalyn (Scalzo) Bellavia.

Jane grew up in Niagara Falls surrounded by her large Italian family, cherishing every moment spent with her more than 40 first cousins. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1957 and began her career with the Niagara Falls Housing Authority. It was during those early working years that she met the love of her life, Frank Congi. They were married on October 27, 1960 at St. John de LaSalle Church and together raised four children.

For over 25 years, Jane worked at Sears Roebuck in the Summit Park Mall prior to her retirement. She was known for her Thursday and Sunday pasta dinners and the way she kept family at the center of everything she did. Jane and Frank especially cherished their annual family vacations to Hollywood Beach, FL.

Jane loved traveling, reading, dancing, and music, and was a proud member of the Niagara Senior Travel Club. She and Frank were known for lighting up the dance floor together. She also enjoyed crafting, exercising, and faithfully attending Catholic Mass.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, Jane is survived by her four children, Linda (William) Grace, Frank (Janine) Congi, Jr., Kim (fiancé Dale Dibble) Congi and Vincent Congi; her grandchildren, Jaclyn Grace, Adam (Jessica Crooks) Grace, Lauren (Alex) Bitar, Matthew (Tristyn Puzan) Grace, Elijah Congi-Clyde, Joel (fiancé Karah Caudill) Congi, Zachery Congi and Christopher (Jasmine Mai) Congi; four great-grandchildren, Angelo, Ava and Gwendolyn Grace, and Julia Bitar; two sisters, Frances (late David) Ventry and Marjorie (Salvatore) LaScala, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Peter Congi.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 3 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Jane’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 4 at 10:00 AM in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Jane cared profoundly for others and generously supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital throughout her life.
