Obituary

On the evening of August 8, 2019, Jan arrived in her heavenly home to be greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was born May 18, 1955 in the Town of Porter to the late Dallas M. and Oralle Wilson.  She was a member of the Onondaga Eel Clan residing on the Tuscarora Nation.

Jan attended Niagara Wheatfield High School and worked at various local establishments (while her greatest joy was being a stay at home mom).  She was a member of the Tuscarora Indian Mission, leader of the Thursday Night Prayer Group, as well as having her own hand making card ministry.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She had a great sense of humor and was filled with much laughter and joy, even during her hardest moments.  Jan had a gift of creativity, whether it was crafts, beadwork, cardmaking, scrapbooking, sewing, decorating, cooking, and many more.

She was on fire for the Lord therefore God used her in so many ways.  She was a mentor and showed compassion to all who encountered her.   Jan always reached out and lent a hand to everyone, putting their needs before her own.  She brought comfort to all even if it was just a smile or a few words.  She was a true angel.  Most of all, she loved sharing about her Lord, Jesus Christ, whom she loved very much.  He was the light which shined through her wherever she went.

She was the gorgeous wife of Alvin John for 44 years.  Loving, most caring mother of Daniel, Theresa, Anthony, and Amanda.  She is survived by her siblings, Val (James) Swanson, Corrine (Joe) Jamieson, Kevin (Suzy) Wilson, Barry (Sue) Wilson, Net Wilson, Lance Wilson, Mindy Clause, Sister in Law Bea Harris, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.   Jan was very fond of her great nephew Nodin Printup.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Dallas "Will" Wilson and Joel Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019, 4:00 PM, at the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035 Walmore Rd, Sanborn, NY 14132, with Pastor Donald Robinson.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Local arrangements by M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jonah Center Oncology, ECMC, 462 Grider Street, Buffalo, NY 14215 or Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
