Janet L. Markarian, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on June 15, 2022 at her residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mabel (Myers) Loercher.

Janet attended local schools, graduating from LaSalle High School. On September 21, 1968 she married Edward M. Markarian.  Mr. Markarian predeceased her on May 28, 2003.  Janet had a long and much enjoyed career of 35 years working as an Assistant Manager for M&T Bank in Niagara Falls, NY.  In her spare time, she enjoyed her cabin in the Southern Tier with her soulmate and husband Edward.  Janet and Eddy spent many enjoyable vacations at their time share in Acapulco, Mexico.  She loved to bake and made the most delicious cheese cake ever.  Beloved sister, aunt and friend to so many, Janet was known for her selfless nature and devotion to family.  Among Janet's Endearing traits was her sense of humor and contagious laugh, as well as an unwavering tendency for frankness.  She will truly be missed.

Janet is survived by her three sisters, Shirley (George) Winger, Nadine (Lawrence) Ghougasian and Loretta Everett; her nieces and nephews, Gregory (Dalia) Winger, Brian (Denise) Winger, Heather (Erik) Raither, Paul (Kathy) Ghougasian, Sarah (Andy) Spicola and Steven (Lisa) Pichkuski; as well as many more cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Sandra, Carol, Patricia, Richard and Doris.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19 from 12 – 4 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.   If desired, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.
