Janine Marie (Fotus) Iorfida, 53, of the Town of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home by God on January 29, 2015, after a lengthy illness. She was the precious daughter of John and Naomi (Heisner) Fotus.

Janine was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1979. She continued her education at the Continental School of Beauty in Buffalo, NY, where she developed her passion in cosmetology. Janine later owned and operated The Hair Studio located in Bergholtz, NY. She ended her career as a teaching assistant at Orleans-Niagara Boces, where she found great fulfillment in nurturing her students.

Janine was born and raised in the First Assembly of God Church, where she dedicated her life to Jesus. She enjoyed bowling, camping and listening to country music. She also enjoyed spending time with family, friends and playing board games. Above all, Janine's greatest pleasure in life was her three children and granddaughter, Madeline Grace, who she loved to visit in North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Janine was the devoted mother of Matthew, Andrew and Sarah; loving grandmother of Madeline; dear sister of John (Noel) Fotus and Lynne (Nunzio) LaVerdi; beloved niece of Joan (Alan) Dittbrenner; and the loving granddaughter to the late Ada and Harold (Fotus) Rutherford and to the late Florence and William Heisner. Janine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially her lifelong friend Annmarie Wait.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to First Assembly of God Church and the many health care providers including Mt. St. Mary's Hospital (Sister Judith), Niagara Hospice and Venture Forthe Inc. for the compassionate care and kindness given to Janine.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2nd from 4-8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a funeral service on Tuesday, February 3rd at 10:00 A.M. in the First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held at White Chapel Memorial Park, North Tonawanda, NY.
