Jason M. Ruta, 51, of Youngstown, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Lewiston, NY he is the son of Patricia (nee Arico) Ruta of Amherst, NY and Aldo (Dian) Ruta of Lewiston, NY.

Jason graduated from Lewiston Porter High School in 1991 and obtained his Bachelor's degree from Fredonia State University. He later earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from Niagara University.

In 2000, Jason began working at Rich Products Corporation where he was currently employed as a group controller. He enjoyed playing hockey in his earlier years, and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed family vacations at the beach and managing his fantasy sports teams. Most of all, Jason cherished the time spent with his son, Christian.

In addition to his parents and son, Jason is survived by his spouse, Melissa (nee Duke) Ruta; his sister Andrea (Mike) Kozlowski; his nephew, Andrew Kozlowski and his niece, Eva Kozlowski; his in-laws, Maurine and George Brown, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Barbara (nee Pick) Eberhardt and Anthony Arico; his paternal grandparents, Eva (nee Brunetti) and Luciano Ruta; and his father-in-law, Don Duke.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff in the Emergency Room and ICU Department of Buffalo General Hospital for the outpour of love and care given to Jason.

Visitation will be Friday, March 15 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Jason's Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 10:00 AM in St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
