Jean M. "Jeannie" Grace, 60, of Lewiston, NY, and formerly of New York, NY, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Sophie (Gray) Corona.
Jeannie was raised in Queens, NY, where she graduated from High School and made her sacraments at Immaculate Conception Church. She also received her Bachelor's degree and earned a Master's degree in the Science of Education from Hunter College in New York and a double Master's degree in Education Administration from Baruch College in New York.
Jeannie was a passionate educator who served as a Teacher and Assistant Principal during her 27-year career in New York City. Most recently she wrote and released her first book, The Caretakers, with the support and love from her family. She also took great pride in teaching and mentoring numerous children in need.
Jeannie had a love for animals and enjoyed spending time with her two dogs and five cats. She also had a strong Christian faith and a true Zest for life.
Jeannie is the sister of Evelyn (Mark) Raffaele, Thomas (Gina) Corona, the late Jane (Karl) Blau and the late Joan (William) Feyh; the honorary mother of Heather (John) McClure and Thomas Matthew Corona; and the honorary grandmother of Landon and Hayden McClure. Jeannie is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jeannie will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted, generous woman. Her final gift to others was through ConnectLife as an organ and tissue donor. A Celebration of Life will be held at a time to be announced in her hometown of Queens, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to ASPCA or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements by M.J.
