Jean R. (Sirianni) Mathieson, 91 of Lewiston, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at Elderwood at Grand Island Health Care Facility.   Born March 21, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmella (Carpenella) Sirianni.

Jean attended St. Joseph's school in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1944.  She entered Mount Saint Mary's School of Nursing and graduated from the first Nursing class of Niagara University in 1947.  She married Robert P. Mathieson on April 11, 1953 at Saint Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls.  Mr. Mathieson predeceased her on September 21, 2009. Jean worked as an Obstetric nurse for Saint Mary's Hospital and Dr. William Gillick, and later was the school nurse at Colonial Village School in Lewiston.  Nothing made Jean happier than cooking for her family (especially sauce and meatballs), enjoying the company of her neighbors on Hewitt Drive and spending time at the casino with her close friend Bunny.

Jean is survived by her four children, Michael (Linda) Mathieson, Christopher (Kelley) Mathieson, Kathleen (Jeff) Gattie and Robert Mathieson, her grandchildren, Meeghan (Michael) Alberti, Zach Hubbard and Melissa (Phil) Wallace, Tristan Miller, Hugh, Levi and Bella Mathieson along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  Jean was also predeceased by her younger sister Marie (Harry) Colemon.

There will be no prior visitation. The family will be present on Friday October 12 ^th from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Saint Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church 2748 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
