Jean C. (Begolo) Palmeri, 89 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on June 6, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Thorold, Ontario she was the daughter of the late Louis and Amabale (DeMarchi) Begolo.
Jean was raised and educated in Thorold. On August 19, 1950 she married Stephen J. Palmeri at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. For several years Jean worked as a waitress, first at the Sheraton-Brock Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario and later the Como Restaurant. She went on to work alongside her husband in their family owned business, Steve's and Jean's Bar originating on Niagara Street in 1966 and later moving to Pine Avenue until her retirement in 2006. Jean loved cooking and hosting her family for dinner and was an avid New York Yankee Fan.
In addition to her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her three children, Philip D. Palmeri, Stephen (Tracy) Palmeri both of Niagara Falls and Josephine (Felix) Rizzardo of Jordan Station, Ontario, seven grandchildren, Philip (Tracey) Palmeri, David (Shannon) Palmeri, Lisa (Justin) Miller, Samantha Palmeri, Stephen Palmeri, Anthony (Jessica) Rizzardo and Nicholas Rizzardo, three great-grandchildren, Bryson Miller, Jacob Miller and Marlee Rizzardo, two brothers, Jeno (Shirley) Begolo of Fonthill, Ontario, Albert (Joan) Begolo of St. Catharines, Ontario as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother John Begolo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stewart Lindsay O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence 5285 Lewiston Rd.
