Obituary

Jeffrey Stanley Jamieson, 56, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday October 10, 2010 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in the Six Nation Indian Reserve in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, and Band member of the Upper Cayuga, he was the son of Mareta (Green) Jamieson-Bovanizer of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Theodore S. Jamieson. He was also the step-son of the late Rodney H. Bovanizer.

Jeff came to Niagara Falls as a child with his family, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1973. He later attended Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY. He was employed as a machinist for many years at the former Chisholm-Ryder in Niagara Falls. In his leisure time he enjoyed making furniture. He was also handy in the fields of plumbing as well as electrical and auto mechanics. Jeff was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.

In addition to his mother, Jeff is also survived by four brothers and four sisters, John E. Jamieson of Niagara Falls, NY; Joanne Bovanizer of New York City, Janice Bovanizer of Niagara Falls, NY; Howard Bovanizer of Ft. Scott, KS; Janet (Thomas) Neubauer, Mareta Bovanizer, Rod D. Bovanizer, Kenneth J. (Melissa) Bovanizer all of Niagara Falls, NY and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister Marla Jamieson-Fadel.

Visitation will be on Wednesday October 13th from 3 – 5 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19TH STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter Printup officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
