Jennie Doris Houpt, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Elderwood at Wheatfield. Born in Thorold, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kozak) Wowchuk; and the loving wife of the late Merlin James Houpt, who she married on May 20, 1961 at St. Andrew's Church in Thorold.

Jennie attended Linwell High School in Thorold and worked at Moore McCleary Builders Supply for five years before her marriage to Merlin. Together they moved to Niagara Falls, NY, where she was employed at N.F. Memorial Medical Center prior to raising her children.

Jennie enjoyed arts and crafts in her younger years, but above all she centered her life around her beloved family.

Jennie is survived by her daughter, Kristen (David) Stillinger; three grandchildren, D.J., Andrew and Addison; her sister, Anne Davidson, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jennie was predeceased by her son, John Houpt and two siblings, Stella Hrynkiw and Paul Wowchuk.

Private services with entombment in Riverdale Cemetery will be held for Jennie's family. Memorial offerings may be made to the WNY Alzheimer's Association, 6215 Sheridan Dr #100, Buffalo, NY 14221. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
