Jerome "Jerry" W. Peuquet of Lewiston, NY, passed away on November 3, 2016 at Niagara Hospice House after a long illness. He was born on November 8, 1946 to the late William J. and Mary (Crotty) Peuquet. Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Catherine (Farina) Peuquet.

Jerry graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1965 and Niagara University in 1969. He was a member of the ROTC while at Niagara University and served his country in Vietnam where he was a ballistic missile officer from 1970-1971. He received three medals during this time and was honorably discharged in 1975 as a First Lt. Jerry was employed at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he held several positions in the clinical laboratory and at the time of his medical retirement in 2000 was the Laboratory Administrator. He was also very active on several community boards during his working years.

Jerry was never happier than when he was at family gatherings. He was a gregarious and kind gentleman who lived life to the fullest. Jerry was an avid reader of all topics and loved gardening and designing landscaping for friends and family. When in good health, there wasn't a sport he didn't try and he enjoyed skiing, golfing, racquetball, bowling and basketball. His favorite sport was sailing, on his boat Teaser, or crewing for friends. He and Cathy enjoyed spending winters at their condo in Port Charlotte, Florida. In 2009 he received a heart transplant at Strong Memorial Hospital and that gift enabled him to live a quieter but fulfilling life for several more years.

Jerry was fortunate to have a loving and supportive family. He is survived by sisters, Carolyn (Frank) Richel, Janice Peuquet; brothers, Steven (Marilyn) Peuquet and William Peuquet; sisters-in-law Paula (Edward) Mash and Patricia (Frank) Fracassi. He was the brother of the late Robert J. Peuquet. Jerry was the uncle of thirteen wonderful and devoted nieces and nephews.

Jerry's family would like to express their gratitude for the expert care he received at both Strong Memorial Hospital, Transplant Unit and Niagara Hospice House.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 11 – 2 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will follow at 2 P.M. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Military Honors.
