Jerry Crittenden, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on March 6, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Herbert and Rosie Ella (Ridgeway) Crittenden.

Jerry was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  He attended Niagara University and Niagara County Community College, where he played basketball, and later Buffalo State College, earning a Bachelor's Degree.  Jerry was employed as a child care aide and bus driver with People Inc. in Niagara Falls for 5 years.  He later worked as a custodian for various local hotels.  A member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Jerry taught Sunday School and was very skilled at counseling youth.  He enjoyed playing basketball, watching sports, and spending time with family.  He will be remembered most for his cerebral skills and intelligence, his talkative nature, and his happy go lucky personality.

Jerry is survived by his siblings, Iona (Thomas) Penteldon and Lula Crittenden, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Lester Crittenden, Ester (Robert) Joseph, and Eugene Crittenden.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 11 AM – 12 Noon at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 1750 Tennessee Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305, where homegoing services will be held at 12 Noon.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to People Inc. or to the United Negro College Fund.  Arrangements by M.J.
