Jo Ann Taylor, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away at her residence on August 2, 2026, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence E. (Thomas) Gertz.

Jo Ann was fondly known to family as ‘Jo’ and friends as ‘JoJo’ and momma Jo. Jo Ann was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On April 27, 1963, she married Kent L. Taylor, Sr. Mr. Taylor predeceased her on August 22, 2003. Jo Ann was employed at AM&As in the Summit Park Mall in Niagara Falls as a sales clerk in the furniture department from the late 1970s to the late 1980s, and later worked in medical billing for Dr. Fugitt and Dr. Lillie in Kenmore, NY.

Jo was an artist who enjoyed drawing charcoal portraits, oil‑painting landscapes, and designing curtains and valances for her family. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, trying new recipes, and loved passing down her culinary and artistic skills to her grandchildren.

Jo Ann is survived by her children, Kent Taylor, Rodney (Paula) Taylor, Renee (Frank) Broderick (late James Roman II), Lisa (Eric) Bock, Michael (Ana) Taylor, and Stephanie (Jeff) Barros; grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Jayme Taylor, James Roman III, Madison Bock, Jacob Bock, Zoey Taylor, and Liliana Barros; siblings, Patricia (John) Davidson, Arthur (Cindy) Gertz, and Robert Gertz; Jo loved her dogs and leaves behind her beloved dog, Bailey; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jo Ann’s Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3:30 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3200 17th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
