Jo Ann (Detkos) Driscoll, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Suchocki) Detkos.

Jo Ann was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, where she was a proud member of the National Honor Society and the Phi Beta Gamma Sorority. On February 1, 1964, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Driscoll, to whom she had been introduced by a neighbor’s friend. Together they shared 62 years of marriage, building a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

Jo Ann’s working years reflected her strong work ethic and warm, welcoming nature. She was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education for five years as Secretary to the Superintendent. She later worked at John’s Flaming Hearth in both the office and as a hostess for 15 years, and finally with Watson’s Restaurant in the office for three years.

A woman of many talents, Jo Ann enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, and cooking. Her childhood nickname of “Dolly” also became attached by her mother to her much loved “Dolly’s cake”. She volunteered with Catholic Charities and took great pride in creating a loving home and raising her children. She especially loved preparing meals during the holidays and watching her children and grandchildren open gifts at Christmas and on their birthdays. Her presence was a source of boundless love, comfort, and care, and she treasured every moment spent with her family. She had a warm smile, a tight hug, and a great love of taking care of others.

In addition to her husband Robert, Jo Ann is survived by her sons, to whom she was a deeply loving and dedicated mother: Jeffrey (Aluisio) Driscoll and Gerald (Nancy) Driscoll; her cherished grandchildren, Sean and Megan; her sister Theresa (Thomas) Jandzinski; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, George (late Dana) Detkos and her sister, Marilyn (Jerry) Metzer.

The family is also profoundly grateful to Jo Ann’s aide, Mickey, who provided her with great comfort, care, and friendship during her final months.
