Joan (Suminski) Bolton, 90, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024 at her residence. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Ledwon) Suminski. Joan was a graduate of East Side High School and on June 18, 1955, she married Paul H. Bolton. They shared 67 wonderful years together, prior to Paul's passing on September 20, 2022.

Joan was employed by Jenss Department Store for 10 years until her retirement. She was an avid crafter; enjoying quilting, sewing and creating holiday decorations. Most of all Joan loved to bake and was well known for her Christmas cookies.

Joan is survived by children Michael (Sharon Swift) Bolton, and Sandra (Barry Hart) Ellis; her grandchildren Ashley (Andy) Koehler and Andrew (Jennifer) Ellis; great grandchildren Gwendolyn Joan and Nathaniel Koehler, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Bonnie Bolton Balys (Joseph) and sister Shirley (late Stanley) Pieczonka.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 12 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:30 AM, followed by Joan's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
