Joan S. Johnson, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Maule) Saulino; and the beloved wife of the late Mason T. Johnson, whom she married on May 8, 1954.
Joan was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls where she attended local schools and worked at Hooker Chemical Company as an administrative assistant. After raising her four children, she worked at Summit Park Mall in the Information Booth for many years.
Joan was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Church and centered her life around her family. She enjoyed tending to her garden, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels, as well as listening to music. She also looked forward to social functions and gatherings with her friends and family. Most of all, Joan cherished her time spent with her family, especially her loving grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Thomas M. (Laura) Johnson, Margaret E. (Roger) Moody, Steven J. Johnson and Mary (Chiem) Secor; her grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Daniel and Claire Moody, Miles, Grace and Neil Johnson, Cody and Mason Secor; her brother, Frank (Jean) Saulino as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Marie (late Fred) Serianni.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 21 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Joan's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
