Joanne Pileggi was born January 1st, 1945 as the first New Years baby that year in Niagara Falls, NY. She passed away from pneumonia on April 18th, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC surrounded by her immediate family.

Joanne was an avid music lover, especially Elvis Presley. Her hobbies included Bingo, bridal magazines and getting manicures and pedicures. She worked for Opportunities Unlimited as a young adult.

In 2002, she relocated to South Carolina to be closer to her brother. She resided at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home where she was surrounded by many loving care givers. They became Joanne's extended family.

She is the daughter of John Pileggi of Niagara Falls and late Mary (Vecchiarelli) Pileggi; In addition to her father, survivors also include her brother, John (Andrea Reed) Pileggi of Charlotte, NC; nephews, John (Patricia Barthel) Pileggi Jr of Niagara Falls and Christian Pileggi of Charlotte NC; niece, Paige Pileggi of Charlotte NC and great-niece, Marisa Pileggi of Niagara Falls; aunt, Josephine Winkler of Wayne, NJ; uncle, Anthony Vecchiarelli of Niagara Falls, and godmother, Yolanda Curcione of Niagara Falls. Many other cousins, family members and friends also survive her.

Visitation and funeral services will be held in Charlotte, NC. There will be no visitation in Niagara Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a committal service at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, 500 Riverdale Ave. Lewiston, NY with Rev.
