Joel E. Bowen, 53, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on March 30, 2018 at Newfane Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the loving son of the late Russell and Sylvia (Jones) Bowen; and beloved husband of Susan A. (Gates) Bowen.

Joel graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1982. He began working for the U.S. Postal Service and later became the owner of Bo's Pizzeria in Niagara Falls. Joel was a sports enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings Bruce (Nancy) Bowen, Wade Bowen, Glen Bowen, Gail (Bill) Kraft and was predeceased by one brother, Gary Bowen. Joel was the son-in-law of Gertrude Welland; and brother-in-law of Arthur Gates, Robert Gates, Donna Judware, Darlene (late Charles) Toarmino, Juanita Sirianni, Lee Gates and the late Rose Blankenship.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5th from 3 - 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. Memorial offerings may be made the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
