Joel C. Trapasso, 47, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on August 21, 2026, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Tonawanda, NY. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of Christina M. (Pedulla) (David) Mokhiber and the late Joseph L. Trapasso.

Joel attended the Aspire of Western New York Day Rehabilitation Program for many years. He had a deep passion for music, whether unwinding at home or heading out to enjoy live performances with his mom, Christina, and his stepfather, David. Joel enjoyed long car rides, shopping, and traveling. He traveled cross‑country twice by car and twice by plane, and lived in Arizona for six years. He will be remembered most for the joy that shined through him and for the smile that was always on his face.

In addition to his beloved mother and stepfather, Joel is survived by his brother, Jesse Trapasso, and his niece, Ella. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Anthony and Margaret Pedulla and Joseph and Frances Trapasso.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, from 4–7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 7 PM.
