John A. Basile, Sr., 66, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Sunday December 23, 2012 at his residence while under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice.

A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, John attended Our Lady of Lebanon School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On April 7, 2001 John married his loving wife, Candy (Kennedy) Basile in the Town of Niagara. For twelve years, John worked as an industrial worker at the Tonawanda Coke Corporation plant in Tonawanda, NY until his retirement in 2003.

John was an avid football fan who loved the Oakland Raiders. He was an active fisherman and enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Casino. Above all, John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Basile is survived by his five children, Cheryl Mort of Niagara Falls, NY, John Basile Jr. of Lewiston, NY, Brian Basile, Michael Basile both of Niagara Falls, NY, Nicole Basile of Florida; as well as several grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by one sister, Jennifer Cooke of Niagara Falls, NY and his fun-loving dog, Daisy May.
