John N. Curtis, 68 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on July 18, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Born April 21, 1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Nicholas J. and Liana S. (Santarosa) Curtis.

John was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls.  He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1968. Afterwards he attended the State University of New York College at Brockport where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, and Niagara University for his Master's Degree.  John began his career in education with the Rochester School District.  In 1980, he obtained a position with the City of Niagara Falls School District where he taught English for thirty years until his retirement in 2010.  John truly loved teaching.  He was an accomplished musician and played bass guitar with his local band, King of Hearts. He was also a car enthusiast.  John's greatest love was studying literature, the Bible and history.

John is survived by his sister Elpida S. (Brian) Crawford of Grayson, GA, his nephew Stephen A. Crawford of San Francisco, CA, niece Christine E. Crawford of Raleigh, NC, his uncle and aunt Claude (Eleanor) Santarosa of Lewiston, as well several cousins and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Rd.
