John J. Gambino, 83, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Pasquale 'Patsy' and Elizabeth (Colosi) Gambino. A lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area, John attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Mr. Gambino served his country in the United States Air Force National Guard until his honorable discharge in 1953.

John was in the automobile business for over 50 years, as owner and sales manager of three dealerships which included, Gambino Ford, in Lockport, NY; Gambino Rainbow Ford & Lincoln Mercury and Gambino Rainbow Ford and Toyota in Niagara Falls, NY. John was known as 'Mr. G' at all of his dealerships, and was a five time recipient of the Ford Motor Company Presidents Award for Customer Satisfaction. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 in Niagara Falls, and the Niagara Falls Country Club of Lewiston, NY.

Mr. Gambino is survived by his four children, Patrick J. (Theresa) Gambino, Jerauld P. (Liliana) Gambino both of Lewiston, NY, Elizabeth (Geno) Badolato of Niagara Falls, NY and Dino J. ( Maureen) Gambino of Lewiston, NY, seven grandchildren, John P. (Rebecca) Gambino, Paula (Dan) Rydelek, Giancarlo Gambino, Adriana Gambino, Michael Badolato, Rosana Gambino and Nicolas Gambino, four great-grandchildren, Juliana Gambino, Gabriella Gambino, Aleena Rydelek and Alex Rydelek, one sister Josephine (Gambino) (late Jack) O'Donnell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Anna Mary (John) DeMunda and Evelyn (late Dominic) Yacabino.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday May 11th, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at a time and place to be announced. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
