John M. "Harp" Holohan, 87, passed away Friday December 10, 2010 at his Wheatfield residence. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late John and Mary (Pirolli) Holohan.
During World War II, Harp served in the United States Marine Corps and was awarded the Bronze Star for valor. He worked for the Niagara Falls Fire Department, achieving his way through the ranks until he retired as a captain in the 1970's. Harp was an accomplished handball player and could be regularly found at the YMCA in Niagara Falls socializing with his many friends. He leaves behind his cousins and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated Monday August 29th at 12 NOON at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Arrangements by M.J.
