John P. Lozinsky, Jr., 81, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late John P. Sr. and Mary A. (Krawczuk) Lozinsky.

John attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School's Machine Shop program in 1950. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force from December 30, 1950 until his honorable discharge on December 15, 1954. On August 30, 1952 he married Mary A. (Yorio) Lozinsky at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. John was employed as a machinist at Airco Speer Carbon Co. and also at MMR Construction Co. both in Niagara Falls, NY. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and meeting his friends for coffee. But most important to John was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of sixty one years, John is also survived by six children John (Patricia) Lozinsky of Niagara Falls, NY; Bryan (Connie) Lozinsky of Lewiston, NY; Connie (Kevin McDonald) Lozinsky, Esq. of Niagara Falls, NY; Thomas Lozinsky of Lewiston, NY; Steven (Kathy) Lozinsky of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Lisa (late William) Jones of Lewiston, NY; eight grandchildren Nathan Lozinsky, Jeremy (Eileen) Lozinsky, Jeremy McNally, Kristin Lozinsky, Kacy (Tom) Mogavero, Kody Lozinsky, Joseph Cappellano and Nicolas Cappelano; three great grandchildren Ethan Lozinsky, Caden Lozinsky and Livia Lozinsky; one sister Mary Frances (John) Trunzo of Youngstown, NY; one brother James (Lois Fisher) Lozinsky of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 5th from 2 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6th at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent DePaul at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY with military honors.
