John S. Luzak, Jr, 78 of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Thursday August 13, 2015 at his home while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Lewiston, NY, he was the son of the late John S. and Loretta (Mietlicki) Luzak, Sr.

John was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School and received his Associates Degree from Niagara County Community College. On September 26, 1960, he married Cynthia A. (Tato) Luzak at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. For over 25 years, John was employed at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Niagara Falls. Following his retirement he continued working as a driver for the Ransomville Bus Lines and the Youngstown Senior Transportation Program.

John and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the country visiting their children, especially to Las Vegas. He was sports enthusiast and member of the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, golfing and antique cars.

In addition to his wife of 54years, John is survived by his six children, Jacqueline (Nancy Major) Luzak of San Diego, CA, Christopher L. (Savita) Luzak of Las Vegas, NV, Jennifer (Stephen) Green of Rochester, NY, Johanna (Marshall) Diebold of Montclair, NJ, Stephanie (Archie) Achuara of Kekaha, Kauai, HI and RoseMarie (Jeff) Lamphere of Fuquay-Varina, NC, twelve grandchildren, Amber and Anthony Luzak, George, Grace and Clara Green, Dorian and Frankie Diebold, Archie III and Alexander John Achuara, Briella, Maria and Sienna Lamphere, two brothers and one sister, Dennis (Barbara) Luzak of Gasport, NY, Linda (Eric) Davis of Lockport, NY and Ronald Luzak of Niagara Falls, NY as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday August 20th at 10:30 a.m. a St. Bernard's RC Church 218 Hinman St. Youngstown, NY with Msgr. J. Thomas Moran officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Youngstown.
