John D. Marcolini, 70, of Wheatfield, NY passed away on Thursday July 2, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Querino and Dusolina "Rose" (Bounvita) Marcolini.

John was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. On September 17, 1966 he married Barbara (Calandrelli) Marcolini in Niagara Falls. He was employed through the UFCW Local 1 in Utica, NY and retired as a Union Representative. John was a member of the Niagara County Democratic Committee and served as their 2nd Vice President as well as the Democratic Committee Chairman for the Town of Wheatfield. In 2006 he was the recipient of the Democrat of the Year Award. John was also an avid New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his wife of forty-two years, Mr. Marcolini is survived by two children John (Angela Cerrone) Marcolini of Amherst, NY and Susan (Chad) Marcolini-Sydorowicz of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren Colin, Ryan, and Ava; one sister Mary (John) Barth of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. John was predeceased by three brothers Anthony (Lonnie of Grand Island, NY) Marcolini, Edward (Lorraine of Niagara Falls, NY) Marcolini, William (late Caroline) Marcolini, Ann (late Norm) Budney, and Evelyn (late John "Jack") Whitenight.

Friends may call on Sunday July 5th from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will follow at 8 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
