Obituary

John V. Pavone, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday June 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in San Gregorio, Province of Reggio, Calabria, Italy, John was the son of the late Giuseppe and Angela (Cucinotta) Pavone.

John was educated in Italy. In 1951 he immigrated to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and settled in Niagara Falls, NY where he lived until the present time. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and was a true and sincere man to those who knew him. He was employed by West Roofing in Niagara Falls, NY. Along with his 'gentle memory' remains a woman Debra Perricelli-McIntyre who loved him dearly and who put his life first, to care for him, despite her very own. John was a devoted member of Club Italia, Niagara Falls, Ontario among other organizations. He had a love for the Italian Sport of Bocce, and was well known for his skill in leagues throughout Niagara Falls, NY and Ontario.

He is survived by two brothers, Angelo (Maria) Pavone and Dominic (Valerie) Pavone, one sister Catarina (late John) Dejkhar all of Menton, France, several nieces and nephews, a cousin Marguerite Pavone of Buffalo, NY as well as several other cousins. He was also predeceased by his former wife Elizabeth (DeLorenzo) Mirabelli Pavone, and one sister Rosa (late Dubi) Dejkhar.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 – 4 and 6 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will begin on Thursday July 7th at 11:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers are graciously declined. If desired memorial offerings may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence 5285 Lewiston Road Lewiston, NY 14092. Debra has stated that her love, patience and care for John may now just be a memory; but that memory to her will always be "a forever heart-filled treasure".
