John T. Pierson III, 64, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 27, 2024 at Erie County Medical Center.  Born in Barksdale Air Force Base, LA, he was the son of the late John T. and Mary Louise (Moraca) Pierson.

John came to the area with his family as a child, and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  John was employed as a Leadman with IIMAK Imaging in Amherst, NY for over 10 years.  He was also a partner with his brother Mark in Mark Pierson, Inc., which specialized in owning and renting business properties locally.

John was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed fishing and canoeing.  He was also a sports fan, and loved watching football and cheering on the Raiders.  John loved listening to music, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd, and named his beloved pets after their songs and lyrics.  John enjoyed vacationing, and also inherited a love of flowers and gardening from his mother.  Above all, he was most in his element when he was around his family and friends, and was very well known for the huge summer parties that he would host on Independence Avenue.

John is survived by his brother, Mark Pierson (Sharon Whyte); his life companion, Sharon Weston; his step-children, Lindy Hartunian and Quinn (Mark) Putaski; several grandchildren, his aunt Ellen, as well as by many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30 from 2 – 5:30 PM at M.J.
