John J. Rucci, Jr., 57, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday June 14, 2011 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late John J. and Linda "Lela" (Presutti) Rucci, Sr.

'Rucci,' as he was known by his family and friends, worked as a laborer for various construction companies in the Niagara Falls area. An avid hunter and fisherman, John enjoyed spending time in the Southern Tier with family, friends and his two beagles, Samantha and Suzie. He was also a fan of the New Orleans Saints. Most importantly his life centered on his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his companion Lisa G. Gordon of Niagara Falls, NY; his children Shawn (Rebecca) Rucci of the Town of Niagara, NY; Gregory P. Rucci of the Town of Tonawanda, NY; Matthew J. (Chrissy) Rucci of Las Vegas, NV and Timothy (Jennifer) Rucci of North Tonawanda, NY. He was predeceased by his former wife Barbara (Barry) Rucci. He is also survived by two step daughters Melinda Gordon of Lewiston, NY and Jessica Gordon of Sanborn, NY; seven grandchildren Cameron and Julianna Rucci, Gabriella and Joseph Rucci, Addy Rucci, Keith Gordon and Selene Torres; a sister Carol Rucci of Lockport, NY; two brothers Joseph (Katie) Rucci of Lockport, NY and Dominic (Cheryl) Rucci of Las Vegas, NV and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday June 16th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating.
