John Vivian, 95, of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, he graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to earn his college degree from Niagara University. John proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard until his honorable discharge in 1953.

In his earlier years, John and his family moved to Cleveland, where he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for several years. He returned home to Niagara Falls in 1981 and spent many dedicated years working with Local 91.

John found his greatest joy in the outdoors, where he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also appreciated the simple pleasure of a cold beer shared among friends and family. Most of all, he treasured every moment spent with his beloved family, who will feel his absence deeply.

John is survived by his children, Judith (Robert Intorcio) Vivian and Jeanpierre (Christee) Vivian; his grandchildren, Amanda M. Kaim, Jeanpierre (Alexandria Polito) Vivian II, and Liam Vivian; his great‑grandchildren, Aaliyahh and Jacob; and his sister, Rose M. Hovivian.
