Johnny Lee Lowery, 72, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2020 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with a six-month illness. Born in Brantley, AL, he was the son of the late Crosby and Martha Frances (Sealey) Lowery.
Johnny was raised in Brantley where he attended local schools and was employed as a laborer for several years. In 1974, he moved to Niagara Falls and began working as a container press operator at Tulip Richardson Manufacturing.
On April 15, 1989, he married the love of his life, Linda L. (Winn) Lowery at the former Winter Gardens in Niagara Falls. Johnny was an avid fisherman, skilled baseball player and passionate sports fan, especially of the Oakland Raiders (Las Vegas Raiders). He was also a very spiritual man and longtime member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Johnny enjoyed working on cars, as well as tending to his garden and cooking for family and friends. He will also be remembered for his famous fried chicken. Above all, Johnny's life centered around his family, especially his beloved wife, children and grandchildren who he loved dearly.
The Lowery would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center ICU physicians and staff, the M.J. Colucci & Son staff, and to our family and friends for their prayers, support and outpouring of love during this time.
In addition his wife of 31 years, Mr. Lowery is survived by his four children, Dina Winn, Ina Denise (Michael) Taylor, Timothy (Tamaron) Winn, Sr. and Michelle Winn; eleven grandchildren, Rhasheen (Jasmine), InDeaka, Asha, Asauna, Timothy "Low Ball" Jr., Jasmine, James, Timischa, Markasia, Keyara, Mi'Keesha, Michael; one great-grandchild, Kyrie; his siblings, Annie L, May C, Olivia, Cookie, Barbara, Alvin, Fred, BoBo and he was predeceased by his siblings, Emmanuele, Oalave and Ray Ray. He is also survived by his aunt, Beaulah May and Franklin, as well as his close friends Jacob Winn, Willie Barber, Marcus Owens, Steve Houston, Charles MaClain, Moses Street, Albert Brinson, Melvin Sealey and Balard; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Perry Sealey, Sr. and Beulah Sealey and his paternal grandparents, Doc and Jimmy Mae Lowery, and his aunts and uncles, Agusta, Goerge, Jonny James, L.V., Lucy, Oscar, Pearl, Perry and Vira.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 7 from 12 – 1 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where Johnny's funeral service will follow at 1 P.M.
