Jose S. Flores, Sr., 78, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away Saturday February 25, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Marcelino and Dolores (Santiago) Flores.

Mr. Flores was raised and educated in Puerto Rico, and came to the Niagara Falls area in the early 1950's. He married Dorcas (Morales) Flores in 1960 in Niagara Falls, NY. He began working at the International Paper Mill and later as a master machinist at Airco Speer in Niagara Falls for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and playing dominoes, but his true passion in life was family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jose is survived by his nine children, Jose (Cindy) Flores, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY, Luis (Marie) Flores of Tucson, AZ, Luz (David) Pries of Green Bay, WI, Angel (Glori) Flores, Ricardo (Antonietta) Flores, both of Lewiston, NY, Susan (Daniel) Hayes of Knoxville, TN, Ruben (Erica) Flores, Pamela (Paul) Garabedian, Debbie (Brian) Sawma all of Niagara Falls, NY, and was predeceased by one son William R. Flores. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Manuel Flores Santiago of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Victor Flores Santiago, Hildo Flores Santiago both of Morovis, Puerto Rico and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by three siblings, Neftali Flores Santiago, Narta Flores Santiago, and John Flores Santiago.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, February 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Lewiston Assembly of God Church, 4754 Creek Rd. Lewiston, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
