Joseph C.A. "Al" Cote, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away January 28th 2014 at Northgate Nursing Home under the care of Niagara Hospice and surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Adrian & Theresa (Laplante) Cote.

Al graduated from North Tonawanda High School, and attended Erie County Technical School. Al worked for Strippit Inc. and retired in 1999 after 33 years of service. He also worked as a foreman at Electricity Paper Mill. Al enjoyed playing his guitar, and was a member of The Niagara Frontier Fiddle Club. He was also an avid roller skater. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Al served as an usher, Eucharistic minister, and president of Holy Name Society at St. Teresa's Church in Niagara Falls, NY, where he also served on their choir, liturgy committee and parish council.

Al was predeceased by his son, Andrew A. Cote. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Maglio) Cote of Niagara Falls; stepchildren, Joel (Mary Jo) Neri of Lewiston, NY, Guy (Cindy) Neri of Webster, NY, Roseanne (Mark) Scott of Austin, TX and Mark (Cindy) Neri of Dallas, TX; grandchildren ,Alyssa (Matt) Brincka, Nicole Neri, Alex Neri, Anthony Cote, Adam Cote, and Richard Cote; his two brothers, Lionel (Jeannie) Cote and Jerry (Ann) Cote, and several nieces and nephews. Al was the brother-in-law of Pat Tinque, Anthony (Shirley) Maglio, and Mickey (Lorraine) Maglio. He is also survived by his devoted friend, Ann Kokenboc. He was predeceased by two sisters, Alice (late Edward) Degone and Noella (late Victor) Rossow.

There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 1st at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Church, 2437 Niagara St. Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Jacek Mazur, officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church beginning Saturday at 9:30 AM. EVERYONE WILL ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements by M.J.
