IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Arnel
“Arnie” Rochon
October 26, 2021
Joseph Arnel "Arnie" Rochon, 88, of Lewiston, NY, and formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife, children and sister. Born in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Arcides and Jeanne (DesJardins) Rochon.
Arnel or Arnie, as he was affectionally known as by his family and friends, was a graduate of St. Michael's Catholic School in Timmins, Ontario. He moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1955 and married Lena (DeSantis) Rochon on May 28, 1955 and cherished each of their 66 years as husband and wife.
Arnie began working at Canadian Hydro Components and Moore Business Forms, and would later retire from Graphic Controls, Buffalo, NY, after a long and dedicated career as a professional Pressman.
Arnel was an excellent hockey player in his youth and well into his adulthood. He enjoyed camping in his earlier years and was an avid bowler. Arnie was also a passionate fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and working on puzzles with his granddaughters. His sense of humor was legendary, and he always made friends or guests feel special.
Arnel was a talented woodworker and had the ability to repair just about anything, from his cars to any appliance in the house. He was comfortable in the kitchen as he was in his workshop. He also enjoyed fixing antique watches and clocks. Arnie loved tending to his prize worthy garden, as well as using technology, especially his computer.
Most of all, Mr. Rochon enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his four granddaughters, Claudia Rochon, Stevie Ondra, Kate Ondra, and Marissa Ondra.
In addition to his wife, Lena, and his granddaughters, Mr. Rochon is survived by his children, Cindy Ondra and Paul Rochon; three sisters, Germaine (late Cliff) Daines, Aurise (late Peter) Magierowski and Rena (Peter) Hendrick; as well as many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
