Joseph Daniels, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on February 16, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Philip and Florence (Campese) Daniels; and beloved husband of Elaine (Pailing) Daniels.

Joseph attended local schools and enlisted into the United States Army on January 19, 1949 until his honorable discharge from active duty in 1952. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves for many years prior to his retirement from service duty as a Command Sergeant Major in 1987.

During his long, decorated service to our country, Mr. Daniels received numerous awards and citations including the Korean Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, the United Nation Service Medal, a President Unit Citation, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Mr. Daniels was employed by the City of Niagara Falls Parks Department as a Crew Leader until his retirement and also served as a Volunteer Niagara Falls Police Officer. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, Pete's Market House, and an avid bowler in many leagues and clubs locally. Above all, Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed playing card games with them.

In addition to his wife of over 60 years, Mr. Daniels is survived by his four children, Joseph (Barbara) Daniels, Rick (Kelly) Daniels, Gary (Shirley) Daniels and Cindy (Sean) Downie; his grandchildren, Joseph and Vincent Daniels, Richard (Sarah) Cox, and Robert and Cody Daniels; two great-grandchildren, Melody and Janay Daniels; his siblings Thomas (late Sara) Daniels and Priscilla (Robert) Forester, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank Daniels, Russell (late Mary) Daniels, Philip (Frances) Daniels, Barbara (late Joseph) Licastro and Marilyn Daniels.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 21 from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 A.M.
