Joseph “Joe” DeGiulio, 92, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Maria (Caracci) DeGiulio.
Joe graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University at Buffalo Pharmacy School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.
On April 16, 1955, Joe married Barbara (Chabala) DeGiulio at Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. They shared 61 years of devoted marriage until her passing on October 9, 2016.
A dedicated and well-respected pharmacist for 55 years, Joe was the owner and operator of Barnum’s Pharmacy in Youngstown, NY, where he worked side by side with his wife. Together, they created a place known for its personal care, warmth, and the trust of generations of families.
Joe was a former longtime member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing during the summer, and in the winter, he loved bowling. He also enjoyed going to the casino. Above all, Joe was a special, kind, and caring man—deeply devoted to his wife, his children, and especially cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Staff at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility for the compassion and care shown to Joe and his family during his time there.
Joe is survived by his sons, Rick (Mary) DeGiulio and Jim (Jeanne) DeGiulio; his grandchildren, Michele (Michael) LaDuca, Marc (Britney) DeGiulio, Mia DeGiulio, and Sophie DeGiulio; and his great grandchildren, Melina, Maria, Zoe, and Gianna. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Olga DeGiulio.
