Loving Dad & Grandfather Joseph A. DeLuca, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2012 in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Reynoldsville, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth DeLuca. Joe came to Niagara Falls, NY as a teenager with his family and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1954. H married Mary Jane (Dalton) DeLuca who predeceased him on January 26, 2005. Joe was employed as a Laborer in the Hazardous Waste Management Department at the Occidental Chemical Corporation until his retirement in 1993, after 35 years of service. In the 1970's & 1980's Mr. DeLuca served as one of the proprietors of the Gamecock Tavern on 11th & LaSalle Avenue in Niagara Falls. Joe was an avid hunter and belonged to the 3- F Club; he also enjoyed to golf. Joseph was a very caring person who was always there for his family and friends whenever they needed a helping hand. Mr. DeLuca is survived by his two sons, Joseph A. (Anna) DeLuca of Lewiston, NY and Keith (Lynda) DeLuca of the Town of Niagara, NY; five grandchildren, Ashley, Angela, Jocelyn, Nichola, Jeffrey and one step grandson, Eric; three brothers, Peter (late Bernice) DeLuke of the Town of Niagara, Anthony (Eva) DeLuke of Lewiston, NY and Ronald DeLuke of Niagara Falls, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law. Joseph was predeceased by two sisters, Jean (John of Niagara Falls, NY) Cheff, and Katherine Cowell; and one brother Alfred (late Shirley) DeLuke. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 2nd from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday January 3rd at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY with Military Honors. Memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
