Joseph F. Contento, 83, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Born in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Jane (Papparella) Contento, and the beloved husband of the late Shirley M. (Dugan) Contento, whom he married on April 8, 1967 at Prince of Peace Church.

Joe earned his Master’s degree from Niagara University and dedicated over 33 years to serving the community as a math and computer teacher with the Niagara Falls Board of Education. He was an avid golfer and a devoted fan of both the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Above all, Joe cherished the time spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

He is survived by his two children, Anthony (Mone) Contento and Joseph (Catherine) Contento, Jr.; his grandchildren, William, Olivia, Dominic, Sophia, and Ella Contento; and his sisters, Alessandra (Robert) Kenny and Mary (Lawrence) Barker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held privately for Joseph’s family with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating, followed by entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
