Joseph Jacob Farulla, 64, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Tuesday February 21, 2012 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Gaetano and Vincenza (Spallino) Farulla.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1966. During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Army from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1970. On June 1, 1968 he married Janet (Tomasine) Farulla at the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls. He was the proprietor of the Waldorf Niagara Hotel in Niagara Falls, NY. Joseph was a member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 917 in Niagara Falls, NY and the American Legion Post 1451 John P. Bobo Chapter 264 in Sanborn, NY. In his leisure time he enjoyed his 1927 Model T Car but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of forty three years, Mr. Farulla is survived by two children Jason J. (Heidi) Farulla and Jeanine A. (Michael Williams) Schultz; two grandchildren James Edward Schultz III and Jenna Isabella Schultz, one brother Russell (Wennie) Farulla of Richmond, VA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Antonio Farulla, one sister Tanya Sterns and his uncle Anthony Spallino.

Visitation will be on Friday February 24th from 3 – 7 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating, concluding with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VFW Post 917, 2435 Seneca Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
