Joseph J. "Joe Fig" Figurilli, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Thursday August 6, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Concezio and Almerinda (Baccelli) Figurilli.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. On November 8, 1947 he married Maryanne O. (Buffone) Figurilli at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Figurilli predeceased him on June 28, 1985. Joe worked as a machinist at the former International Paper Company and later at Bell Aerospace. He retired in 1985 as a machinist from Eastern Machine in Niagara Falls, NY. One of Joe's favorite pastimes was gardening, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe is survived by three children Noreen A. (Ray Olivate) Noller of West Seneca, NY; Gary J. (Dawn) Figurilli and Daniel J. (Barbara Hinks) Figurilli both of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Lori (Henry) Moeller, Barry J. (Dawn) Noller, Joseph Hubbard, Robert Hubbard and Shannon Figurilli, two great-grandchildren, Mason Moeller and Mackenzie Moeller, one sister Angie (late Anthony) Volpe of Niagara Falls, NY; his dearest companion Tillie Adamczyk and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother Anthony "Larry" (Rose of Niagara Falls, NY) Figurilli and one sister Anne (Alex of Niagara Falls, NY) Destino.

Friends may call on Saturday from 6 – 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday August 10th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment with Military Honors will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
