Joseph J. Forgione, Sr., 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Arcangelo and Antonina (Cammarata) Forgione.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan until his honorable discharge.  On August 20, 1955, Joseph married Mary Fazio at St. Joseph's Church.  Joe was a skilled craftsman and carpenter by trade.  He was employed as Chief Building Inspector for the City of Niagara Falls for thirty-four years.

Joseph was a hard-working, modest man.  He enjoyed woodworking, home improvement projects, gardening, and golfing.  Above all, he cherished spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Joseph is survived by his two children, Joseph (Lori) Forgione, Jr. and Andrea (Thomas) Wrobel; his grandchildren, Amanda Richard, Adam Joseph Forgione, Nicholas Wrobel, Amy (Steven) Jamieson and Jennifer Wrobel; three great-grandchildren, Thomas Wrobel, Madelyn and McKenzie; his sisters and brother, Josephine LePage, Sara Forgione and Angelo (late Joan) Forgione as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Sarah Forgione, two brothers, Frank (Julie) Forgione, Adolph (late Marie) Forgione, and two sisters, Connie Coppede and Jennie Forgione.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 30 ^th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating, and conclude with Military Honors.
