Joseph F. Hilty, Jr., 84, of Sanborn, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on January 10, 2025.  Born in Canonsburg, PA on June 11, 1940, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Rose (Moore) Hilty.

Joseph graduated from Adams State University in Alamosa, CO with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and English.  On July 1, 1978, he married Judy A. (Ottaviani) Hilty in Niagara Falls, NY.  Joseph taught Mathematics for 28 years for the Niagara Falls Board of Education, teaching at Gaskill Middle School and LaSalle Sr. High School until his retirement in 1995.

Joseph loved farming, golfing, going to garage sales and trains.  Above all, he cherished the time that he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife of 46 and 1/2 years, Joseph is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Rich) Joseph, Cathy (James) Patterson and Laurie Jo Dweck; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18 from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY, 14131, where Joseph's Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM.  Arrangements by M.J.
