Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Joseph Miceli, 82, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Saturday September 1, 2012 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Cerda, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Cruciano and Pipina (Cimino) Miceli. Mr. Miceli was educated in Italy, and served in the Italian Army. On October 23, 1957 he married Pasqua C. (LiPomi) Miceli in Cerda, Italy. In 1960, he and his wife immigrated to the United Stated and settled in Niagara Falls area. For twenty five years, Joe worked at the Elkem Chemicals, formerly Union Carbide in Niagara Falls in production and research until his retirement in 1991. Joseph was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls, NY and an avid bocce player. In his leisure time, he also enjoyed gardening and winemaking. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Mr. Miceli is survived by his two sons, Luciano Miceli and Leonardo (Margaret) Miceli both of Wheatfield, NY, one grandson, Joseph Miceli as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 where funeral services will begin on Thursday September 6th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
